Welcome to “Joe Ayres Cares”!

I got into this because I was encouraged to post information that might be helpful to people trying to get graduate level theses or dissertations completed. A set of videos to that end have been produced. Click on the “Pragmatic Advice….” entry in the Menu Tab on this page to find those videos. In case you are wondering, I directed a lot of thesis and dissertations (see Vita in the “About Me” entry for a detailed list of these).
In the process of doing the thesis/dissertation videos I tossed in a few other videos (things about language use and what consequences the virus shutdown may have for higher education). Entries for those appear in the Menu Tab on this page as well.
In the Menu Tab on this page, you will also find a set of videos I did a while ago about “How to” put power steering in a 1969 Ford, F100, 4 x 4 pickup. Click on “Putting Power….” to access those videos. I’ve been working on cars since I was 12.
There is a section on the novels I’ve written. Click on the “Novels” heading in the Menu Tab on this page to access those entries or paste this url in your browser to go to my author’s page on Amazon amazon.com/author/ayresnovels . I got into this just to see if I could write something other than academic stuff (some of the academic stuff appears on the author’s page). Once I got going the novels tend to tell me what can and can’t be done with the characters…quite surprising really.
At present, I am posting entries about the Celts. I own a Celtic Store (Celtic Crossroads: Northwest in Port Townsend, Washington https://www.celticcrossroadsnw.com/ ) and generated a blog in connection with the store. The blog got lost so I’m reposting all that here. Click on the Menu Tab on this page to find the entries about the Celts. The Celtic Knowledge tab will bring up everything but if you just want information about a given area like Celtic Knots click on that tab. When this section of the site is complete, it will be a substantial amount of information. Some of this will turn into a short book in due course. Be warned that I’m 100% Celtic so there may be a bit of a bias favoring the Celts in my take on things Celtic.
