Slainte

Slainte (pronounced “slawn-cha”) is an expression often used in the pub as one downs some great whiskey. Fainne oir ort is pronounced “fawn-yeh ore urt”. In general, it means well done. The literal translation is “a gold ring on you”, which carries more imagery and depth than a simple “well done”.
